Admit 1
SQNNSW Innovation Hub, Southern Cross University and Nambucca Valley Landcare are hosting a field day at two multi-species pasture demonstration sites.
This workshop will be held in two parts.
Part A
9.30am-11.30am - We will start at a property in South Arm to celebrate World Soils Day. We will be digging a soil pit to explore soil profiles and learn more about the link between soil health and pasture health. This property was part of the multi-species trial and we will discuss the success/failure of the multi-species pasture and the effect of soil type on the pasture.
11.30pm-12.30pm - LUNCH BREAK - stop in Bowraville on your way to Part B and grab some lunch. There are several options including Phoenix, Steam and Cedar, IGA and the Pub.
Part B
12.45pm-2.30pm - Come along to Missabotti to see how the multi-species pasture held up over our dry Spring, how many times has it been grazed, what other species have germinated and flowered? Check the species list and see which seeds didn't germinate, why?
Bring your own: Hat, water bottle, sunscreen and chair.
Covered shoes are required as we are walking across a paddock, and up a hill.
Shoes must be clean of all dirt and mud for biosecurity purposes.
Morning tea is provided on arrival.
