Don Julio was established in 1942 by Don Julio González who spotted a unique opportunity in the production of tequila. He chose quality over quantity, painstakingly planting each agave further apart to allow proper room to grow and fully mature before harvesting. Now owned by Diageo, they continue to use only the highest-calibre, fully matured and ripened blue agave, hand-selected from the rich clay soils of the Los Altos region to make luxury tequila.
