NEEDLES 101 WORKSHOP (BEGINNERS)

FACILITATOR BIOGRAPHIES

Paradax is a passionate needle play enthusiast with a particular focus on decorative sharps and stencil work. Since discovering her love for needle play in 2017, she has honed her craft with a keen eye for detail and a steady hand — especially over the past two years, where her dedication to precision and artistic expression has flourished.

In late 2024, Paradax and her partner launched The Stencil Lab, a creative project aimed at sharing unique stencil designs and igniting inspiration within the global needle play community. Their mission: to bring more beauty, creativity, and confidence into the world of decorative sharps.

Paradax has taught needle play techniques in local kink spaces, expos, and through online forums, where she creates welcoming, educational environments for newcomers and experienced players alike. Her workshops focus on building confidence, safety, and creativity while encouraging others to explore the expressive potential of sharps play.

Matt has been bottoming for needle play scenes since 2017. His professional background utilises AutoCAD which translates well to designing intricate and geometrically satisfying needle play stencils.

In more recent times, he has been exploring his interest in topping for needles and hooks in a collaborative space with needle bottoms.

Together with Paradax, he hopes to continue to grow community engagement and interest amongst the international sharps community.

Workshop outline

In this class, Paradax will break down the basics to get you started in this incredible form of play that can be sensual, sadistic, and artistic. Starting with a theory lesson about safety, needle types, set up, materials, negotiation, aftercare, techniques, pack down, and cleaning; The class will then move into a demonstration portion before a relaxed practical element where attendees will have the opportunity to explore some of the learnings in a safe, and guided space.

A starter needle kit will be included in the ticket price for every single-ticket attendee, or one per couple-ticket attendee. These contain 50 hypodermic needles of varying lengths and gauges, a sharps container, alcohol wipes, blueys, and gauze. Gloves will be available on the day in multiple sizes so no need to bring anything unless you want to!

There is no obligation to partake in any practical portion of this class - participants are welcome to come along with the desire to watch and learn only if preferred.

TICKETS

Maximum capacity of this event is 20 people (10 couples).

Tickets are primarily sold as a couple.

Cost: $150 per couple (+ booking fee); $90 for single ticket (+ booking fee).

VENUE & ARRIVAL

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to allow for the workshop to commence on time. Ample street parking is available.

ACCESSIBILITY

While the venue is not accessible at this time, the KZ Crew has taken steps to address this and improve accessibility. While this is not the most elegant or preferred solution, we do have a stair climber chair for guests.

Using the stair climber *will* require assistance from staff. While we would appreciate knowing ahead of time if you require this assistance, pre-alerting us is not mandatory.

The new venue is on the first floor of the building and access is via a flight of stairs up to our entrance way. There is no lift in the building.

• Non-prescription medications and illicit drugs are not permitted at KinkZone.
• Disrespectful behaviour, uninvited advances and non-consensual touching will not be tolerated. Any violations of these rules, or making others feel uncomfortable or unsafe, could result in ejection from the venue and, if necessary, intervention by authorities.
• The KZ Crew are there to supervise and will stop any scene or behavior they consider to be unsafe or inappropriate. They are identifiable by their armbands.
• Taking photos is only allowed if you gain permission from all individuals before taking photos. This includes anyone that could potentially be visible in the background. We suggest taking photos against a wall as a backdrop to avoid any issues.
