About Darkinjung Local Aboriginal Land Council

Established under the NSW Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983, Darkinjung Local Aboriginal Land Council (DLALC) represents Aboriginal people across the Central Coast of New South Wales. Our boundaries extend from Catherine Hill Bay in the north, the Hawkesbury River in the south, the Pacific Ocean in the east, and the Watagan Mountains in the west.

For more than four decades, Darkinjung LALC has been committed to improving the health, wellbeing, cultural strength, and prosperity of our community. Guided by the NSW Aboriginal Land Rights Act, we continue to protect Country, strengthen culture, empower our people, and create opportunities for future generations.

The Darkinjung NAIDOC Ball 2026 proudly celebrates "50 Years of Deadly", marking five decades of the NAIDOC movement recognising the achievements, resilience, leadership, and enduring contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This milestone is an opportunity to reflect on the journeys of those who came before us, acknowledge the strength of our communities today, and inspire the next generation of leaders. It celebrates our stories, our culture, our survival, and our future.

As we gather on Darkinjung Country, we honour our Elders, celebrate our achievements, and reaffirm our commitment to building strong communities through culture, unity, and self-determination.
