As artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI (Gen AI) technologies advance at unprecedented speeds, the Australian Government faces a complex array of new challenges to harness the potential, while also safeguarding Australian interests, societal cohesion and our economy. This presentation explores how to recognise, plan for and mitigate the unprecedented national and community threats of weaponised AI, while activating the benefits, including the key policy, ethical, legal, and operational hurdles associated with the adoption and regulation of AI across government sectors.
