Event Details

Learn strategies for teaching History, Civics, critical thinking and media literacy using both contemporary literature and museum content. Gain valuable insights from Clare Hallifax and the National Library of Australia's research, writing and educational resources in this highly practical workshop. 

Clare Hallifax will discuss her novel 'A House Divided', a coming of age story set against the Dismissal of the Whitlam government in 1975, and share resources to support your teaching. Curators and the National Library Education Team will guide you through 1975 - Living in the Seventies to share content and activities you can use in your classroom. 

The content of this workshop supports the Australian Curriculum for Year 3 History: Now and Then; Year 6 Civics and Citizenship, Year 6 History, Year 10 History. 

Teachers wishing to claim 2 hours of TQI accredited PL will be required to complete a short written reflection task (supplied at the event).
