About the AWAP

The Australian Women’s Archives Program (AWAP) is an initiative of the National Foundation for Australian Women. AWAP builds knowledge and recognition of the contribution made by women through an online biographical Register. Winter Tales events raise funds to support the Register’s development.

About Karen Viggers

Karen Viggers is a novelist, veterinarian and adventurer. When she’s not vetting or buried in a book, she’s climbing mountains and fording streams all over the world. She loves nature and wildlife and has worked with all sorts of native animals, from possums and penguins to pythons and seals. She’s fascinated by the human-animal bond and animal behaviour. She’s the author of five internationally bestselling novels and lives in Canberra where she walks daily in her local bushland, listening to birds.
