Join one of our expert curators on a free tour of this major exhibition. The exhibition showcases material from beautifully illustrated books which were created by the community of Papunya in the Northern Territory between 1979 and 1990. The community wrote, illustrated, and then printed more than 350 books for children in their own Pintupi and Luritja languages. The exhibition delights people of all ages as with illustrated stories of first contact, Dreamings, community life, plants and animals and more.

The exhibition is open and free to the public from 9am – 5pm on Reconciliation Day.

Bookings are available for three curator tours which will commence at 11am, 12am and 1pm. Tours will take approximately 30 minutes.

Reconciliation Day at the Library

Reconciliation Day is a public holiday in the ACT, providing an opportunity for the community to come together at John Dunmore Lang Place, at the centre of the Parliamentary Triangle. There will be cultural performances, workshops, sporting activities and other activities to promote conversation, strengthen relationships, and deepen understanding of Australia’s shared history.
