Service of Remembrance, Consolation and Hope

For more than 25 years, the annual Service of Remembrance, Consolation and Hope has been a deeply meaningful tradition for families grieving the loss of a baby or child.

Lovingly led for many years by Deb De Wilde and Belinda Power, the service has become a treasured time for families to pause, remember and honour their precious children, while finding comfort and connection with others who understand the deep and lasting impact of losing a baby or child.

Last year, Red Nose Australia and Stillbirth Foundation Australia were honoured to come together to continue this cherished service for the community. What a privilege it is to continue this legacy together again this year - holding this special space for families and ensuring the service remains a place of comfort, remembrance, connection and hope.

Families who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy, stillbirth, or the death of a baby or child are warmly invited to join us. Extended family members and friends are also very welcome.

Together, we continue to hold space for every family, every story and every precious child who will always be remembered.

Registration

We kindly ask that all families and guests register for this year’s service, even if you have joined us in previous years.

Registering helps us stay connected with you and ensures you receive all the information you need about the service, including details about the photo tribute and live-stream.

Whether you plan to join us in person or online, we warmly invite you to register your attendance.

Photo Slideshow Tribute

As part of the service, a special photo slideshow will be shared to honour and remember the babies and children who are forever loved and missed.

We would like to let families know that if your child’s photo was included in the 2025 photo tribute, we will include that same photo again in this year’s slideshow. You do not need to send it to us again.

We also understand that families’ wishes can change, and that seeing a photo of your child included in the tribute may feel different from year to year.

If you would prefer your child’s photo not to be included this year, please contact Nerida Rosenthal at neridarosenthal@rednose.org.au before the service, and we will respectfully remove the photo.

If you would like to share a different photo of your child this year, we would be very happy to include it. Please email the photo you wish to include this year to Nerida, along with your child’s name and any special or meaningful dates you would like included.

If your child was not included in the 2025 photo tribute and you would like them to be included in this year’s slideshow, please email the following to neridarosenthal@rednose.org.au by Monday, 23 November 2026:

• Your child’s photo
• Your child’s name
• Any meaningful dates you would like included

There is no need to resubmit a photo if you are happy for last year’s photo to be used again.

Most importantly, we want families to know that there is no right or wrong choice. Whether you would like your child’s photo included, would prefer to make a change, or would rather not have a photo included this year, we will respect your wishes.

Live-Stream Access

The service will also be live-streamed for families and friends who are unable to join us in person.

A reminder email, including the live-stream access link, will be sent a few days before the service. Please register for the live-stream option so that you receive these details and can be part of the photo tribute from wherever you may be.

Parking

If you are joining us in person, please allow plenty of time for parking. Street parking is available, along with a small car park adjacent to the church.

Photography and Videography

We understand that a gathering such as this is deeply personal and that families may have different preferences around photography and recording.

Photography and videography may take place during the service. By attending, you acknowledge and consent to the possibility of appearing in event photography or recordings.

If you would prefer not to be photographed or recorded, please speak with Nerida or a member of the event team when you arrive. We will be very happy to make suitable arrangements and support your wishes.
