Webinar: Industrial Arrangements for VMO and Staff Specialist

This webinar will explain the industrial arrangements for Visiting Medical Officers (Sessional and Fee-for-Service) and Staff Specialists in the NSW Public Hospital System and provide insights from consultants currently working in the NSW Public Hospital system about their arrangements.

In NSW VMOs are independent contractors and Staff Specialists are employees.

AMA NSW is the industrial organisation representing VMOs in NSW and our Workplace Relations Team provides support and assistance to individual VMOs and Staff Specialists when dealing with Hospitals and Local Health Districts regarding their engagement and workplace matters.

Our presenter for this event is Dominique Egan, AMA (NSW) Director of Workplace Relations. Dominique draws on over 20 years of experience dedicated to acting for medical practitioners, medical association, medical defence organisations and insurers as well as health and aged care facilities. Dominique has represented AMA(NSW) in VMO Arbitration proceedings and has acted for VMOs in relation to a range of matters including VMO Contract negotiations and disputes, workplace investigations and disciplinary proceedings. Dominque has also represented Staff Specialist in workplace matters including disputes and disciplinary proceedings and unfair dismissal proceedings.
