Canberra In Person Progressing Contemporary (PCT) Workshop

Progressing Contemporary Technique (PCT) Teacher Training Workshop w/ Progressing Contemporary Technique Director Adam Blanch and Annabel Knight

Designed for teachers of any form of dance as well as Pilates & Yoga instructors who wish to learn dance technique through the Progressing Contemporary Technique method developed by Adam Blanch.

Progressing Contemporary Technique is an innovative program created by Adam Blanch in conjunction with Progressing Ballet Technique, devised as a series of functional exercises to help you explore and develop freedom of movement. To bring awareness to the importance of finding articulation through your body and allowing that discovery to give you an enhanced sense of mobility in contemporary dance.

The PCT workshop has been structured in a format to allow the students to organically develop their contemporary technique through a progressive structure of exercises. These exercises will be broken down by Adam in much detail offering insights as to the function of each exercise, muscular utilisation/awareness/benefits, musicality and appropriate use of breath. Understanding how and why each PCT exercise adds value in Contemporary dance training and other dance and movement forms will also be explored during the workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to practice teach each exercise giving them the correct articulation and confidence they require to teach the program in their own teaching environments. The workshop will conclude with an in-depth questions and answers session.
