ICF ACT Branch

The International Coach Federation (ICF) is the leading global organization dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high standards, providing independent certification and building a worldwide network of trained coaching professionals.

The ACT Branch is made up of ICF members who live and work in the Canberra region. Our members come from diverse fields and backgrounds and work with government and private sector organisations providing executive coaching, leadership coaching, life coaches, career coaches and many more.

Canberra Coach Catch Up – an informal gathering of ICF coaches and people interested coaching, who network and share experiences at the Canberra Hyatt Tea Lounge between 5.30-7pm (held on the third Tuesday of each month)

Credentialing Buddy Program – matches coaches who are interested in applying for a credential with a buddy – someone who has been there and done that and who can speak about the benefits of an ICF credential, share their experience of the credential process, and where relevant provide tips and encouragement about each of the steps.

Canberra Coaches Connecting with the Community – a pro-bono coaching program for staff of community sector organisations with each participating coach offering 5 hours of free coaching. This is now entering its fourth year of operation and coaches benefit by building their coaching hours, confidence, skill and giving back to our community in a meaningful way.

Coaching in Organisations Discussion Group – held at least once per year, coaches are invited to purchase the Coaching in Organisations Handbook at a discounted price, and to participate in a series of facilitated group conversations to analyse and discuss this amazing Coaching Handbook and how it applies to their coaching.

Masterclasses – regularly throughout the year, we offer coaching masterclasses on a range of topics to develop ICF Core Competencies or to build awareness of emerging coaching issues.

ICF Annual Members Forum – a members-only forum held each year to inform and discuss changes and issues relating to ICF Global, the Australasian Chapter and the ACT, and to set the strategic direction for the coming year.

Partnering Events – in the ACT, we seek opportunities to create networks with other organisations and associations interested in coaching.

Supporting New Members – we welcome our new members each month with an email, and the offer of a phone call or coffee where we promote the benefits of ICF membership and our local activities.

Social Media – we understand that many of our future and current coaching clients are active in social media and maintain a Branch presence on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter to build a following, maintain interest in coaching topics and to grow the confidence of our own coaches about social media.
