Chamber Music at the Cathedral

Enjoy an Autumn afternoon in the spacious Christchurch Cathedral in Newcastle City. Flute and strings will play classics from the chamber music repertoire. For three players, there is Haydn’s String trio in G major, HOB XI: no.124, and his London Trio for flute, violin and cello HOB 1V: no.1. Then still for three players, Beethoven’s Serenade for flute, violin and viola is an unusual but stylish combination. Putting flute with all three string players, we also perform Mozart’s sunny D Major Flute Quartet. Mingled with the classics are favourites of Saint Saens’ “The Swan”, Massenet’s “Meditation” & Gardel’s tango “Por Una Cabeza”.
