Sally-Anne Whitten Band
Sally-Anne Whitten was born & raised in Tamworth NSW on a healthy dose of blues, rock & country music. Her father, guitarist/ piano/ bass player Barry Whitten saw to it that a young Sally-Anne was immersed in all things music, which included teaching her to read & write music.
From the age of 15, the singer-songwriter was working as a session player (bass & guitar) alongside her dad. Over the years, the artist has honed her very own style of ‘funky country’.
2009’s debut album “Blurring The Lines”, a mix of covers & original material, delivered two Top 30 international & Australian radio hits – a stunning cover of John Hiatt’s ‘Don’t Know Much About Love’ & her own composition “Manwrecker”.
Three years later, “Sell My Soul” was born, produced by Sally-Anne’s guitarist/ Golden Guitar-winning producer & husband Alwyn Aurisch. Her second single, “My Place In The World’ - a lyrical tale about a musician’s constant struggle between sustaining a real life & chasing a career - was co-written with close friend & fellow Tamworth resident Allison Forbes.
