The Friends of the National Arboretum Canberra are delighted to announce the return of Warm Trees this July 2025! This year, we proudly partner with the Republic of Korea to bring a vibrant cultural experience to the Arboretum.
Hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and guided by the educators of the National Arboretum these engaging workshops will introduce children to traditional Korean crafts and biodiversity through hands-on creativity.
Join us for a fun and creative hands-on workshop where kids can make their very own Cheongsachorong – a beautiful traditional Korean lantern!
Cheongsachorong is a traditional Korean lantern made with red and blue silk—red on top and blue on the bottom—symbolizing welcome and celebration. These lanterns are often displayed during weddings, festive holidays, and ceremonies to light the way and mark meaningful moments.
Create your own Cheongsachorong and take home a piece of Korean culture!
*Suitable for ages 8-12 years.
*This is an accessible event, including accessible activities, paths and bathroom facilities.
