Aboriginal Cultural Competence training is for anyone who wants to work more effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. In particular workers in the health and community services sectors (both government and non-government) are encouraged to undertake the training.

This training will help participants :

• learn the context of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and well-being and the impact of historical events;

•  have an awareness of the Aboriginal community in Tasmania, and the participants own culture and attitudes towards Aboriginal people;

•  change work practices to become more culturally safe.
