Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network in conjunction with Black Dog Institute will be presenting

Youth in Distress: Blended Learning
When: Wednesday 10 February 2026
Time: 9.00 -4.00pm
Online: Target audience Counsellors, Psychologists and Youth Workers

With a focus on self-harm and suicide in adolescence, this program
will assist clinicians to manage youth in distress, self-harm and
suicidality.

The program has been designed to build on the current level of
skills of participants and to further develop confidence in
undertaking risk assessment and safety planning for youth in
distress. CPD certificates will be given after completion of all 4
modules in their entirety.

Learning Outcomes
Manage youth in distress and self-harm
Undertake a suicide risk assessment effectively
Develop a collaborative safety plan
Implement a team approach to treatment planning
Provide effective management following a suicide attempt
Identify strategies for self-care
Modules Topic 1: The suicidal crisis
It is a prerequisite
to complete Topic 1 prior to commencement of the online training on the 10/2/2026: Topics 2-4 which will be covered during the training online.

Topic 4: After the attempt
Topic 5: Self-care
