Known as the "King of Soul", Sam Cooke revolutionised popular music with his silky vocals, heartfelt songwriting and enduring classics including Cupid, Wonderful World, Chain Gang and A Change Is Gonna Come. His groundbreaking work paved the way for generations of soul artists, including the undisputed "Queen of Soul", Aretha Franklin. With her extraordinary voice and unforgettable performances of songs like Respect, (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman, Think and I Say a Little Prayer, Aretha became one of the most celebrated singers in music history.
