Youth in Distress: Blended Learning

With a focus on self-harm and suicide in adolescence, this program
will assist clinicians to manage youth in distress, self-harm and
suicidality.

The program has been designed to build on the current level of
skills of participants and to further develop confidence in
undertaking risk assessment and safety planning for youth in
distress. CPD certificates will be given after completion of all 4
modules in their entirety.

Audience
Mental health clinicians working in a 1:1 setting with young people (psychologists, counsellors)

Manage youth in distress and self-harm
Undertake a suicide risk assessment effectively

Implement a team approach to treatment planning
Provide effective management following a suicide attempt
Identify strategies for self-care


Delivery Modality and Duration

Online, blended training over four modules:
• Module 1: 1 hour self-directed learning. Must be completed prior to participating in training day.

Training day:
• Module 2: 3 hour online interactive Zoom workshop.
• Module 3: 1 hour self-directed learning
• Module 4: 2 hour online interactive Zoom workshop
