No matter where you end up in life, it is likely that you will have to interact with others at some point. No matter what position, everyone is expected to be able to interact with others to an acceptable level. It is important to learn how to interact with others, especially in the workplace, where one must be able to negotiate with peers, and interact with clients and superiors .

It can be difficult to learn interpersonal skills because it takes years of interaction with people to notice subtle clues and not fall into awkward situations.

Paramount Training and Development believes that both individuals must be able to work in the workplace and have the skills and knowledge to allow them to communicate with others. We also understand the concerns and motivations of those who are aware of their weaknesses and want to fix them. We have created our People Skills Course to help both sides. It is designed to help motivated individuals who are eager learn.

It is hard to interact with others. One must take into consideration the similarities, differences and their speech patterns, as well as how they conduct themselves. It can build rapport between people from different backgrounds and, if it is allowed to develop, it can help to sustain a strong relationship. Paramount Training and Developments' People Skills course is available to anyone who is willing and able. It will teach you the skills needed to build relationships and social interaction.

People Skills Training Outline

Identify, interact with other, and develop their own communication styles

What is assertive communication? What’s submissive communication? What is aggressive communication? Employees undertaking People Skills training are expected to be able to correctly identify these from one-another as well as the many attitudes, mannerisms, and traits that these particular communication styles exhibit while they attempt to communicate with others.

The next step is how to properly respond to individuals using these differing styles. There are ways, methods, strategies already in place to appropriately converse and interact with these varying styles, and by the end of the course, learners are expected to demonstrate how they interact with these differing styles.

Lastly; either organically or with more rigid lessons given by our instructors, learners will be encouraged to develop their own communication styles and appropriately apply them correctly for suitable uses for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

Identify and overcome different barriers of social interaction

Many barriers exist that can impede and halt any attempts to interact with others. They could be physical such as the item used to interact with one another such as faulty internet connections, socio-cultural differences such as being from different countries thus having different customs, traditions, and varying forms of etiquette, to more conceptual differences such as conflicting philosophies and biases. Employees taking up the People Skills course are taught how to recognise these issues in communication and are allowed to develop strategies and workarounds to these potential barriers by discussion from reliable research materials from relevant fields.

Develop and become more proficient as listeners

A lot can be picked up from listening to others. Be it through casual observation or active practice; one can learn, ascertain, and discover a whole host of information that one can utilise to improve easier interactions with others. There are different types of listening too, and much like tools in a toolbox, different styles are effective at different occasions. Learners will be given lessons on how to become better listeners, and techniques and strategies on how to best employ certain listening styles to best suit the occasion.

Employ lessons from psychology to improve relations with others

There is an entire field of study wholly dedicated on how the human mind works. This field is called psychology. Its vast area of knowledge is immense and can allow practitioners that study its many fields to interact with, treat, and medicate certain individuals suffering from the many and various issues they have in their mental health. While learners under People Skills Course are not expected to perform these particular acts, they are however given the opportunity to learn the many theories of psychology related to social interaction through lessons and supplementary material as provided by our instructors. The hope is that introducing these materials and the many theories they have within will encourage our learners to adjust their methods of approaching others and positively influence how they do so.

Make new friends and keep them

Theories and conceptual work is all well and good but learners undertaking this course are taught the value of the field test. With this in mind, learners are allowed to practice their newfound skills and strategies on each other with the goal of establishing friendships with one another and forging healthy relationships to last long after the end of the course. By employing all of these and creating bonds with one another, our learners will have succeeded in displaying their ability in what they have just learned.
