Event 13: Film Night: The Dressmaker

Artists: Rosalie Ham, Sue Maslin

Host: Jane McCredie

It is incredible but true that the woman who wrote the international bestselling novel The Dressmaker grew up in the same town as the woman who would go on to turn it into an international award-winning hit film. Best friends Rosalie Ham and Sue Maslin grew up in the tiny town of Jerilderie in the southern Riverina region (population 1,029.) Award winning actor, Sacha Horler, who plays Una Pleasance in the film, completes our trio of talented women who have all left their mark on this unique story. Frock up, grab a glass of bubbles and join Rosalie and Sue for this very special screening of The Dressmakers followed by a discussion about turning novels into films and find out which one they think is better, the book or the film?
