Galaxy Magic – Kids Art Workshop (Ages 6–10)

In this fun and engaging 2-hour workshop, children will explore their creativity as they design their own galaxy-themed artwork inspired by space, planets, stars, and imagination. Using canvas, paint, lights, glue, craft materials, markers, and paint pens, each child will create a unique artwork that lights up and can be proudly taken home. Their interactive artwork can help sooth busy minds at bed time when the "galaxy " can be turned on and  lights up like the stars.

This workshop encourages confidence, creative expression, problem-solving, sensory exploration, and imaginative play in a supportive environment. Children are guided step-by-step while still being encouraged to explore their own ideas and style to build on their confidence.. No art experience is needed just the willingness to "give it a go" and to have fun!

This Art Therapy activity supports children to:

  • strengthen emotional expression through symbolic and imaginative art-making
  • build confidence by completing a unique artwork they can take home
  • develop planning, sequencing, and fine motor skills through layered construction techniques
  • practice mindfulness and calming focus as they blend colours and create galaxy effects
  • foster resilience by making choices, experimenting, and adapting their ideas
  • enhance self-awareness by reflecting on what their galaxy represents to them
  • experience joy, curiosity, and a sense of achievement in a supportive environment
  • Socialization and communication and make new friends

By combining creative exploration with gentle reflective language, this workshop encourages children to connect with their emotions, imagination, and personal strengths—all while having fun and constructing a glowing artwork that celebrates their individuality.

By the end of the session, your child will walk away with a completed illuminated artwork, a sense of achievement, and the joy of creating something magical.
