Born from a love of old jazz standards but with a refusal to treat them too reverently, Gustavo Swing is a 6 piece neo swing band that delivers a high-energy collision of classic jazz, blues, ska, swing and jive that's built more for a dancefloor than polite 'dinner jazz' admiration. From a hatchet job on George Gershwin through an impolite mashup of Peggy Lee and the Pink Panther, to more modern 'Gangster Swing' classics from the Royal Crown Revue and Squirrel Nut Zippers. The band tears into the old songbook with uptempo swing music and enough left turns to make jazz purists a little bit nervous.
