Join Anna-Maria Arabia, CEO of the Australian Academy of Science, as she reflects on her life and work advancing science and the value of evidence-informed decision making in our society.

Anna-Maria developed new ways for science to inform Australia’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and new ways for science to be heard in the courts as illustrated by Kathleen Folbigg’s acquittal, one of the largest miscarriages of justice in our times.

This event is held in association with the National Foundation for Australian Women and the Australian Women's Archives Program (AWAP).

Winter Tales events feature a notable woman speaking about her life and work and raise funds to support the Australian Women’s Archives Program.

Afternoon tea will be served following the presentation.

About the AWAP

The Australian Women’s Archives Program (AWAP) is an initiative of the National Foundation for Australian Women. AWAP builds knowledge and recognition of the contribution made by women through an online biographical Register. Winter Tales events raise funds to support the Register’s development.
