Nancy Sinatra/Lee Hazlewood Experience

Nancy Sinatra’s singing career was going nowhere when someone introduced her to Duane Eddy writer/producer Lee Hazlewood - he played her his tune “These Boots Are Made For Walking”, told her to "sing like a 16-year-old who goes out with 45-year-old truckers," (that’s the clean version) and it became a worldwide hit. Hoboken’s favourite grand-daughter was finally a star.

When it finally came time for Nancy to do a duet, she would have no one but her producer, gravelly baritone Lee, thus giving birth to one of pop's oddest and finest Beauty And The Beast pairings - and so followed a string of hits single-handedly creating a genre variously dubbed “saccharine underground” and “cowboy psychedelia”.

Following on from this significant success, Lee, in a move of wonderful perversity, re-located to Sweden, effectively destroying his career but allowing him to make the quirky and legendary Cowboy In Sweden album and ensuring himself eternal cult status.

Now, the Nancy Sinatra/Lee Hazlewood Experience explores this unique musical pairing and the gems from their respective solo careers, in a tribute that camply goes where no band has gone before (OK, maybe one or two).

Zoe Carides is Nancy Sinatra
Star of stage, screen and the occasional pub in bands like the Proteens, Cut The Cheese and The Same, Ms Carides channels Frankie’s vinyl-booted baby Nancy with the passion of a 16-year-old who dates truckers.

Scott Holmes is Lee Hazlewood
Dubbed “three balls” by those in the know, Scott’s baritone voice, previously heard in bands like The Same and Scattered Order, perfectly recreates self-styled “Swedish Cowboy” Lee’s dark vocal stylings.

The Guys At The Back Of The Stage Are “The Nancy Boys”.
