Daylight Ghosts will be celebrating the impending release of their second single After The Flood with an intimate performance of their melancholic brand of dark-folk music at The Junk Bar. Joining them will be Joseph Rabjohns playing an instrumental set of intricate and atmospheric guitar music featuring tracks from his debut EP Tides.
~ Joseph Rabjohns ~
Joseph Rabjohns is a Brisbane based guitarist, composer, educator and community builder. His passion for creative music is a result of years spent crafting his practice composing and performing with his longtime musical collaborators (Kodiak Empire, Kieran T. Stevenson, Last Lakes, Shoal) As well as staying busy contributing all he can to these projects, he’s been developing a unique catalog of solo works for guitar. The music is heavily concerned with the exploration of through-composed melody and harmony and takes a great deal of influence from the worlds of post rock, ambient and progressive music, as well as modern Jazz guitarists such as Pat Metheny and Ben Monder.
~ Daylight Ghosts ~
Daylight Ghosts is an acoustic dark folk duo comprised of singer/songwriter Adam Dawe (Lunar Seasons, Novus Wild) and composer/guitarist Karl O’Shea (Balloons Kill Babies, inovo, Sarah Stockholm, Ghostwoods). The band was formed in 2019, driven by Karl’s desire to explore a style of songwriting outside of his usual music world which has been largely playing bass in the prog/metal environment. His vision for Daylight Ghosts brings together his love for raw and intimate music with shared influences coming from artists as diverse as Chelsea Wolfe, The Go-Betweens, Swans and Scott Walker. The band is completed by the yearning vocals of Adam Dawe, complimenting the band’s delicate and melancholic compositions.
