'INCREDIBLE YOU'

Create Your Own Superhero Character

The ‘Incredible You ‘workshop is designed around children exploring themselves & how they see themselves; they can learn a great deal about who they are while increasing their cognitive skills, & developing their observational, expressive & reflective skills through creative play. Encouragement through art therapy & creativity, children build positive reciprocal relationships with one another, as well as a positive relationship with themselves. The focus will be to raise their confidence and self-esteem, awareness of self and others, communication and coping strategies.

This art workshop with a therapeutic value is designed to help kids explore their own creativity and celebrate their creative individuality. The storybook “Incredible You” will be read as part of the focus, & space for the children to express themselves through “what makes you special worksheet”, then the opportunity to draw how they see themselves. From this process, children will build their own miniature characters from recycled objects. Using a variety of art and craft materials, they will create their own unique artwork to serve as coping resources when needed. All this in a fun, creative and supportive environment.

Creativity can provide an insight into a child’s self-concept & is the best way for a grown-up to see their child is through their own child's eyes. Children will be supported as they explore, create, and learn new processing skills.
