Planning mental health training at your school this year? How can you tell whether a mental health trainer or course is a good choice?
Join Peta Dampney, an experienced educator and mental wellbeing/suicide prevention course facilitator who will guide you through the dos and do nots of mental health training programs at schools. As a former high school teacher, Peta is passionate about improving the quality of mental health and suicide prevention education for teachers, school staff, parents/carers and students Australia wide.
During this chat, Peta will discuss how in a largely unregulated industry we can develop mentally safer and more effective training opportunities that provide both students and teachers with skills and learning that go beyond buzz words and cliches. Peta will also go through the mindset that organisers need to adopt when hosting training at their school. She will also outline the Youth Mental Health First Aid Australia course and suggests ways to fund courses at your school. Peta will also provide you with the benefits of the course and anecdotal evidence she has witnessed as an instructor of the course over the past 6 years.
Come along with your questions as Peta will also facilitate a Q&A session at the end of her presentation.
An email with the zoom invite will be sent to all registered guests prior to the session.
Stay tuned for future convo sessions with Peta :)
