FACEMEAT
Inspired by the likes of John Zorn and Frank Zappa, and comprising the best of Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, Facemeat is abrasive, uncompromising, and unsettling.
The debut album “Questions For Men” deals with abject elements of modern masculinity, such as violence, jealousy, anxiety and rage.
Facemeat is Australia's most problematic superband.
SPECTRAL GATES
Spectral Gates are an instrumental duo featuring high energy drums and guitar backed up by synth sequences and loops. Their sound traces an arc from sludgy post-rock to sand-blasted math-disco with sprinklings of dub and electronica.
DOCTOR ROBOT
In the future there are only doctors and robots. But there is one... Doctor Robot!
A time travelling robot from the year nine million on a mission to discover what it means to be human.
LUNAR DIRT
First time in Sydney for Lunar Dirt and their new soundtrack to the Japanese sci-fi cult classic.
Live drums and analog synths in a retrofuturist exploration of space and time.
LAZY THINKING
Lazy Thinking is a music venue and record store (that sells only independent Australian music), bar and restaurant.
We run performances six nights a week that focus on exciting independent, locally based artists of all persuasions. We try and strike a balance each week between more established independent artists we love and emerging, lesser known artists. All shows are pay what you want, no one turned away.
Our kitchen doesn’t use gas or charcoal, as we think it’s better for our staff and the planet. We make amazing smash burgers using grass fed beef from suppliers we trust and a house made, white miso heavy burger sauce. Vegan, vegetarian, GF and all other dietary requirements available. We also serve shoestring fries with smoked sumac seasoning, choc tops and mixed lollies.
We only stock independent, Australian made beer, low intervention wines from Australian producers, cocktails and always ensure we have a very wide range of non-alcoholic drinks on offer. We think bars are more than just places to drink alcohol now and we want our little place to reflect this.
Our record store focuses exclusively on new independent Australian music, with a heavy emphasis on new music from Eora/Sydney. We’re especially fond of labels and artists operating on the margins of contemporary music and also always stock a wide range of new merch from labels and artists we love.
