What Is A Women’s Circle

A ‘Women’s Circle’ is a judgment free place where women can switch off from the outside world and enter into a comfortable welcoming space with other supportive, like minded women, to talk, share, reflect, listen and support each other.

They often involve rituals, storytelling, and deep listening, promoting vulnerability, authenticity,  connection and validation - your feelings, voice and opinions are valuable and matter. 

History

Women have been gathering in circles since the beginning of time. Circles made up of women were a part of many ancient cultures and traditions. 

Themes

A circle will often follow a theme to help focus the sharing and activities within the circle- providing a sense of direction and purpose for the gathering.

The "sandwich generation" is not a new concept. Coined in 1981 by American Professor Dorothy Miller, it was generally regarded as the domain of middle-aged women.

Our ‘Women’s Circle’ Format

For this ‘Women’s Circle we shall sit on chairs. 

1. Opening ceremony - welcome, circle overview and rituals. Please bring an item that is special and meaningful for you to. The item will be placed in the center of the circle - contributing to the collective energy of the space.

2. Circle activities-open space for you to share your thoughts and feelings on the topic along with self care activities - movement and journaling.

3. Closing ceremony-mediation, gratitude and quiet reflection. 

A light lunch will be provided if would like to join us.
