MILTON CRAWL PRESENTS: THE VAMPIRES + GODTET [Double Headline Show]
GODTET
Having developed cult status in the underground ambient, electronic and beats scene, GODTET are an enigmatic collection of musicians who exist beyond genre.
Marshalled together by guitarist and producer, Dave Rodriguez, GODTET is comprised of Dave, percussionist Dom Kirk, bassist Jan Bangma, drummer Tully Ryan and pianist Andrew Bruce. You will find GODTET performing in warehouses and concert halls, collaborating with traditional instrumentalists from the African diaspora through to the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Celebrated for their bespoke approach to each individual performance, this freedom in creativity allows GODTET to exist within multiple realms, with no two shows ever being the same.
GODTET is your favourite band’s favourite band.
THE VAMPIRES
For this special, one off performance The Vampires will be joined by long time collaborators, James Greening (trombone) and Ben Hauptmann (guitar).
In 2025, The Vampires celebrate 20 years together as one of Australia’s most distinctive and acclaimed ensembles. Over two decades, the ARIA Award-winning group has carved out a unique place in the international jazz scene, melding intertwining saxophone and trumpet lines with hypnotic grooves and genre-defying textures. Their sound is instantly recognisable: immersive, exploratory, and always pushing boundaries.
Their celebrated collaborations include projects with The Necks’ Chris Abrahams (Nightjar, ARIA Award for Best Jazz Album), guitarist Lionel Loueke (The Vampires Meet Lionel Loueke), trombonist Shannon Barnett (South Coasting, Chellowdene, Garfish), Dave Rodriguez of Godtet, among others. Critics have hailed their music as
“phenomenal” (Downbeat), “a masterpiece” (The Australian), and “seductive” (Jazzwise).
Deeply rooted in the expansive landscapes of Australia yet drawing from a global palette, The Vampires’ music merges composed and improvised parts seamlessly, creating a hypnotic flow that captivates audiences. With appearances at leading festivals and venues including A Love Supreme (UK), Enjoy Jazz (Germany), and every major Australian jazz festival, the band continues to expand its horizons while celebrating a remarkable legacy of innovation.
