Gang Gang Gallery is delighted to present a major highlight for the cultural calendar in Lithgow—our very first Lithgow Fashion Show, taking place this May. This unique event celebrates the vibrant intersection of art, fashion, and history, and promises to be both thought-provoking and visually stunning.

At the heart of the event is a special gallery presentation by Professor Peter McNeil, an internationally acclaimed fashion historian, design scholar, and author. Renowned for his engaging talks and award-winning work on the cultural history of dress, Professor McNeil will offer fascinating insights into 20th-century Sydney fashion, tracing its evolution through key moments, movements, and makers.

Joining Professor McNeil are two of our very own fashion icons—Sandy Fullerton and Eric Hagen—whose remarkable careers in fashion, embroidery, and costume design have made a lasting impact across local and international arenas. Their work has influenced everything from haute couture to costume design for film and theatre, and they bring with them a wealth of stories, textiles, and inspiration.

This special occasion also pays homage to Lithgow’s deep-rooted history in textile and garment production, which stretches from the early 1800s through to the mid-20th century. With its industrial heritage and creative spirit, Lithgow provides the perfect setting for this stylish and scholarly celebration.
