FIELDS

FIELDS are an Eora-based collective led by guitarist/ producer YIANNI ADAMS & percussionist KALON CAPTAIN . Dedicated to fully improvised music, FIELDS explore themes of minimalism, repetition & responsive interplay, bridging the gap between ambient soundscapes & groove-driven Afro-jazz. The group formed in 2023 when Yianni & Kalon, alongside Harry Tomspett & Kurt Lam, recorded a series of freeform improvisations, many of which became the foundation of their debut self-titled album released in April 2025 via independent Sydney label CG Discs. Through the joy of pure spontaneity FIELDS embrace an open, boundaryless approach to music, guided by the simple rule to listen & be present. For this special performance at Butchers Brew Bar Yianni & Kalon will be joined by DORKA FOSTER (Flute, FX), MARLEY TUPOU (Keys) & YOUSSEF SAWIRES (Percussion).
