Details
Every year in March, we come together to say the names of the treasured babies and children we have loved and lost – to honour their memory while highlighting the profound impact of each of these deaths.
We invite you to join us on March 7th, as Red Nose Grief and Loss welcome you to our annual Perth Say Their Name Day Remembrance Service. This event is proudly supported by our friends at Mareena Purslowe Funerals.
Our Service will commence at 10am, we ask for your arrival between 9.45 - 10am so we can all be seated and comfortable for the 10am start. Our service runs for approximately 30 minutes, after which we invite you for light refreshments in the adjacent rooms.

Event Guidelines
Our purpose in coming together is to find comfort in connection. We are united in our grief, though our circumstances and timelines differ. There will be diversity across our attendees, including diversity of losses. In keeping with the principle of ‘no hierarchy of grief’, we recognise and respect the grief of all who attend. Depending on the event type, please be mindful that there may be pregnant people or children present.
While this event is open to all bereaved families, the safety and supervision of children in your care remains your own responsibility. There will be a children's table and an outside area available in the refreshments lounge to utilise if needed while the service is taking place.
We understand that some cultures decline to speak the name of a life that has passed. Please know that at Red Nose we honour this tradition and would always adhere to what is acceptable for you and your family in this space of sharing and honouring a life loved.
Why Say Their Name?
When a baby or child dies, life as we know it stops – for parents, families and their wider communities.
This pain cannot be fixed, only carried. What makes this pain lighter to bear is often the simple acknowledgement of this reality from those who matter.
Saying a baby or child’s name alongside those who loved him or her is a powerful act of kindness and acknowledgement that requires no special knowledge or experience.
Say Their Name Day is a day for the whole community to demonstrate that every little life matters and deserves to be celebrated, and that bereaved families are deserving of all the support we can give.
Name by name, we're helping to break the stigma that prevents families from seeking support to help in their healing, in finding hope for the future, and in coping with their new “normal”.
Join with us this Say Their Name Day and together we can remember every little life and support bereaved families.
