Prequisite - single column and an understanding of rope basics
This workshop is suitable for everyone - from beginners to advanced levels
4 hanks of rope recommended. Cutting implement required
This morning workshop focuses on bringing bamboo into our plays like you may not expect. Creating plays and predicaments from exposure to torture, learn how to incorporate bamboo into floor ties like never before.
NOTE: Each tying pair will be provided with 2 pieces of bamboo for this workshop as part of the ticket cost. Each bamboo pole will be minimum 25mm diameter and 1m - 1.2m long.
Prerequisite - 2-part TK
This workshop is not suitable for beginners
6 hanks of rope recommended. Cutting implement required. Bamboo provided
Taking the stereo typical 'Tying on bamboo' and throwing it out the window. This workshop is about joining bamboo to the body and how we play with it in both partials and full suspensions.
NOTE: Tying pairs will be provided with a bamboo pole suitable for this workshop as part of the ticket cost. Bamboo poles will be 40-60mm diameter and 1.5m long.
Prerequisites - 3 part TK & confident upline management
This workshop is not suitable for beginners. Experience with partial or full suspension for both the rigger and model is preferred.
8 hanks of rope & 4 carabiners recommended. Cutting implement required. Bamboo provided
An open description workshop specifically for participants who are at an 'experienced intermediate' or 'advanced' level.
We will take a look at rope from various angles (one perhaps being upside-down). Utilising floor, partials & suspensions, we'll look not only at the technical side of rope, but the meaning behind what we do, the nuances, the way we interact with our partners, and more.
Prerequisites - Competent 3-part TK, Suspension experience
This workshop is suitable for advanced levels only. Experience with full suspension for both the rigger and model is expected.
8-12 hanks of rope & suspension gear of choice (ring/carabiners) recommended. Cutting implement required.
All workshops are 18+, no minors
No nudity or sexual contact is permitted.
Dress code is flexible however we suggest comfortable, casual clothing - think yoga style.
Participants must have a good understanding of the risks and dangers involved in rope bondage.
**The Art of Rope requires each student to sign a liability waiver for each workshop attended as a condition of entry / participation.
Participants must have their own equipment including rope, suspension gear and a rope cutting implement.
