Diabetes Awareness Workshop

The DEAI has partnered with Diabetes SA to deliver an online and interactive workshop: 'Diabetes Awareness'.

Developmental Educators (DEs) often work closely with individuals with disability who have diabetes. This is a great professional development opportunity for those who are interested in increasing their understanding of diabetes.

The workshop will cover:

• What is diabetes?
• Know the different types of diabetes
• Monitoring and management of diabetes
• Understanding hypos and hypers
• Managing and treating hypos and hypers
• Complications of diabetes
• Healthy eating

Resources and certificates of attendance will be provided for each attendee.

The workshop is being offered for FREE to DEAI members. Non members can participate for a cost of $20.00.
