Join us for our annual celebration of the art of bonsai at Bonsai Reshaped 2024! This year we welcome internationally recognised artists Marija Hajdic from Croatia and Morten Albek from Denmark, to share their expertise, influences, experiences and enthusiasm through workshops and live demonstrations. Both professional artists carry the legacy of the bonsai masters into the future whilst developing and exploring the boundaries of the artform.
Come along to an interactive workshop and learn the essentials for creating, styling, and maintaining your very own bonsai. A unique opportunity to learn from our visiting artist Marija Hajdic and our expert curators of the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia.
Marija Hajdic from Croatia is considered to be one of the most influential bonsai artists outside of Japan.
Marija started studying the art of bonsai since 2003, but her real bonsai adventure started in the 2007, when Marija was a student under the guidance of Walter Pall.
She likes to work with Yamadori trees (wild trees collected from fields or mountains) from the Mediterranean region, with almost all her trees collected by herself. She is always trying to find something new with unusual features and impressive character. She has an appreciation and respect for the way nature can create spontaneous forms over time, that cannot be replicated by any gardener.
