This is music for drinking hard, taking a gamble, meeting your lover, and dancing dirty to. Imagine the raunchy howl of soulful saxophones, gritty bluesy guitar, and thumping boogie woogie piano. Mix in the rambunctious, uptempo, rhythms and riffs of the late 40s and early 50s which were later to give birth to Rock 'n' Roll. Pioneered by artists such as Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, and Johnny “Guitar” Watson, this is Jump Blues: early Rock 'n' Roll, rowdy dance music, Blues and Rhythm with a touch of Jazz and Soul.

FÌRINN

Hailing all the way from the pristine eastern beaches of Sydney to the grimy Inner West, Fìrinn serve up a wild brew of Scottish trad, dirty riffs, pangs of bluegrass and straight up folky nostalgia.

Traditional melodies on the pipes and low whistle mash up with swirling electric guitar and big rolling grooves. Add some thumping beats and a rowdy stage caper and Fìrinn create a fiery dance floor, delivering a hot take on ancient and modern Scottish folk tunes.

Take the sounds of the untamed highlands, a pinch of sea-salt and a good swig of a Marrickville warehouse party and you've got yourself Fìrinn.
