There is incredible energy among our youth today. They are proud, capable and understanding, and carry a desire to develop means to improve on the current state of Indigenous disadvantage.

The Youth Forum, a mini Garma in itself, opens with the Yolngu Raypirri Rom smoking ceremony. Then follows four days of camping, activities and workshops for around 75 Indigenous and non-Indigenous students from across the nation. These workshops include mobile journalism, digital media, science, song, music, dance, physical activities and cultural workshops across a jam-packed program.

What eventuates is an energetic and exciting gathering of local Elders, youth of all ages, community organisations, leading musicians, journalists and writers who all come together to share experiences and learn from one another.

This collaboration culminates with a presentation to the Plenary session at the Key Forum.
