Diabetes Australia training for health professionals

Primary care professionals are invited to attend interactive training sessions facilitated by Diabetes Australia. These sessions will increase your knowledge of diabetes care and improve the support you can provide to people living with diabetes from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds in the MPHN region.


Session 1: Medications/CGM 22nd October: 730 - 8.30pm 

In this presentation, you will learn.

  • How does a Continuous Glucose monitor work
  • How a CGM can change behaviours and assist with diabetes management
  • Types of diabetes medications and newer medications on the market
  • How all the technology and medications can assist in self-managing your client

Session 2: Latent autoimmune diabetes of adults (LADA) - 29th October: 7.30 -8.30pm

In this presentation, you will learn.

  • What is LADA?
  • How do we know if a person has LADA? What tests are available?
  • Is diabetes management different for people with LADA?

The sessions will be delivered online by Credentialed Diabetes Educators.
