Since living in a technologically advanced world, security threats are everywhere. With the uptake in facial recognition software to automate processes and track movements, the question pops up surrounding ethics when devices are collecting and storing our data and movements.
ASIS Victoria Chapter is proud to present Alex MacDonald as our title speaker on the subject of "The Ethical Use of Facial Recognition Systems". Alex will outline what you need to know when considering this technology and he will also share what the recent Bunnings appeal means to you.
Speaker:

Alex MacDonald is a Director and Consultant at Vixels, where he provides strategic advice to clients on the implementation of physical security technologies, including facial recognition, AI-enhanced CCTV, video management systems, and physical space data and analytics.

Prior to joining Vixels, Alex spent 14 years as National Investigations and Security Manager at Bunnings Group Limited, where he led enterprise level security and investigations functions. Before transitioning into the private sector, Alex served for 13 years with the NSW Police Force as a Detective Sergeant.
