Welcome to the Hoodoo Gurus benefit concert for Jo and Mercy’ New Wheels.

The extraordinary story of Joanne McSweeny and her daughter, Mercy, has captured the hearts of many in the Central Coast NSW community.
Over 30 years ago Jo stopped to assist a female driver in a car accident. Another car became involved and in a split-second Jo’s life changed forever. Suffering severe spinal injuries, Jo was left a paraplegic never to walk again.
Despite facing tremendous challenges, Jo has since achieved many things including a Uni degree and raising a young family. Joanne embodies strength, resilience and an unwavering spirit and is extremely proud of raising her 3 children as a single parent, the youngest Mercy who was born with Cerebral Palsy.

However, their current predicament threatens to hinder their ability to live fulfilling lives and access essential services. Joanne would be the last to ask for help, and has been very generous with her time and supporting other causes whilst living on the Central Coast for over 40 years.

Joanne’s car of 20 years had broken down and is inoperable. Jo, as a paraplegic with a dependent child with a disability desperately requires her own vehicle for independence to attend medical appointments, programs and social outings with family and friends. We are currently fundraising to assist Jo to purchase a new car and to cover all the associated costs.

Thanks to the amazing support of the Hoodoo Gurus, The Entrance Leagues Club and the Lions Club who are all supporting the “Jo and Mercy’s New Wheels” fundraiser which is absolutely amazing.

So come along to see the Hoodoo Gurus, have a great night and help to get Jo and Mercy back on the road again…..
