The Queensland Specialist Immunisation Service Skills Workshop, will cover a wide range of topics to enhance basic knowledge and skills in Immunisation. 

Discussion on the day will include:  

• The National Immunisation Program Schedule and Catch-up vaccination 
• Effective communication with vaccine hesitant families/patients
• Basic vaccine administration including pre-vaccination checklists, giving multiple vaccines, safe positioning of infants and children for vaccination
• Adverse events following vaccination

The workshop will include practical simulations including differentiating between acute stress responses and anaphylaxis. It aims to equip you with the necessary tools to confidently handle different immunisation scenarios and report Adverse Events Following Immunisation (AEFI).
