Makeda's Birthday Party

It's my birthday hehe. To celebrate I'll play a live show featuring sets from special friends including Punko (Naarm), Genie (Ngunnuwal), ealing in DJ mode and also... ??makeda's mystery housemate DJ ??? (best DJ in Eora imo). We will have vegan birthday cake for sale, possibly some merch and silly nrg aplenty.

Coming out of hibernation after a period of rerouting her artistic direction, Makeda has decided to do what all great artists do - host her own birthday show.

In 2020-2023, Makeda took pause, became a chef, attempted to become a personal trainer, before eventually realising "artist" is the label she wears most comfortably. In that time, she discarded many demos, composed music for dance, performed a skating / singing show at Soft Centre, and played her first European Festival. Makeda learned to write songs from algorithms, Dummy's Guide, some sessions with Jonnine Standish (of HTRK), and many collaborators. After most recently performing alongside Tirzah, Yves Tumor and bar italia, she is ready to eat her own birthday cake and sing songs to her nearest and dearest.
