Details
Bonsai After Dark is a relaxed social event where drinks and canapes are combined with a fast-paced bonsai demonstration where our internationally recognised artists transform a stock tree into a styled bonsai live on stage. Never been before? These demonstrations are set to impress, it could involve audience participation, or head to head bonsai battles, and it is guaranteed to put the art of bonsai into a new light! This year we welcome internationally recognised artists Marija Hajdic from Croatia and Morten Albek from Denmark, to share their expertise and enthusiasm. Using their distinct styles, they will talk us through the transformation and highlight the themes of this years Bonsai Reshaped 'Big and Small'. Enjoy a drink on arrival and canapes throughout the evening and connect with the bonsai community and experts from around the country to share ideas and form valuable friendships. Special announcements on the night include winners of the Bonsai Pot Acquisition Prize and the Joe Mifsud Bonsai Volunteer of the Year Award. The National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia feature some of the finest miniature trees and forests in the world and features many native trees. At Bonsai after Dark you are invited for a rare evening viewing of the acclaimed Collection under lights and the opportunity to meet the Curators, volunteers and contributing artists. Visit a very special display of mini bonsai called “Shohin” from members of the local bonsai community, where all trees are a maximum of 20cm tall.” No bonsai event is complete without live and silent auctions, giving you the opportunity to take home a little (or a lot of) inspiration. Visit during Bonsai Reshaped and be inspired to kickstart or boost your bonsai journey! For more information about Bonsai Reshaped 2024 events visit HERE Bookings close Thursday 4 April 2024. Details of any Bonsai Reshaped event may be changed without prior notice. Artists may be added, withdrawn or substituted for workshops and events. Wherever possible, the National Arboretum Canberra will advise consumers of event changes prior to the commencement of the workshop/event, or at the event where prior notice is not possible. |
