Maya Sherpa is a world-record-holding Nepali mountaineer, high-altitude climber and guide known for breaking gender barriers in a male-dominated field and is on a quest to climb all 14 of the world's 8,000-meter peaks.
Maya is visiting Maitland for a week and has graciously accepted an invitation to share her story and her many achievements in mountaineering.

Maya is also the Vice-President of the Nepal Mountaineering Association and President of Everest Summiteers Association.
