Tropical Dance Sextet – A Magical World Musical Tour

Fresh from the release of their vibrant new album Chin, Chin, the Tropical Dance Sextet invite audiences on an irresistible global journey of rhythm, melody and joy.

Born from Brisbane’s much-loved Tropical Dance Orchestra and now reimagined as a dynamic six-piece ensemble, the Sextet blends Latin grooves, European chanson, Brazilian bossa nova, swing and jazz into one colourful, captivating sound.

From the romantic streets of Italy and France to the sun-drenched rhythms of Brazil and Mexico — with surprising detours through the UK and even Alaska — each song in Chin, Chin is chosen for its unique musical charm, storytelling power and timeless appeal. Expect inventive interpretations of classics alongside fresh contemporary gems, all delivered with warmth, virtuosity and unmistakable style.

At the heart of the ensemble is bassist and musical director Dr Peter Freeman, whose deep connection to Brazilian music (particularly Antônio Carlos Jobim) shapes the group’s lush arrangements and infectious rhythms. Surrounding him is a stellar cast of performers:
