This workshop will be presented by Dave Widders a very proud Anaiwan man from Armidale and will include training on the following:

·Improving Service Delivery for Aboriginal clients and communities

·Communicating effectively with Aboriginal clients (do’s and dont’s)

·A brief but in depth look at the comparative Black and White history of Australia and how it affects current work practices and Aboriginal people in today’s society

·Changing Behaviors with our actions

·Sharing and learning of stories – personal and work experiences

·Aboriginal Culture (Traditional and Contemporary) A brief look at Kinship Structures and how they worked.


·A better awareness of the issues and barriers facing Aboriginal people in the workforce

·A better understanding of the History of policy and practices that have disadvantaged Aboriginal people and communities.

Awareness of Do’s and Dont’s when dealing with Aboriginal people face to face or working in the ·Aboriginal community.

·How to create an Aboriginal friendly environment for Aboriginal workers and clients

·Awareness of protocols when working in and with Aboriginal communities

What are the benefits of employing Aboriginal people and Reconciliation for all Australians
