Join Gail Neuss, the Arboretum's Indigenous Tourism Officer, of Ngarigu Country (Snowy Monaro), to explore the storytelling and symbols used in Indigenous Australian Art.

Part workshop, part story-telling, find out the inspiration and the artists journey behind Gail's artwork. On display will be her artwork created during the 2020 bush fires on her Fathers and Grandmothers Country which will be used to demonstrate how a story, feelings and emotions are put on canvas.

Using the Arboretum and your own story as inspiration, create an artwork on canvas using charcoal, ochre and acrylics.

All art materials and tools are provided. Please bring an art smock. Refreshments available at the Arboretum Café.

This activity is proudly part of the Canberra and Region Heritage Festival 2021.

Bookings essential.
