Come and join us for this informative presentation which will explore what cerebral palsy (cp) is and the functional impacts on children living with cp. Practical strategies which assist young children to be fully included will be explored. With knowledge and problem-solving, children with cp can participate actively and learn through their play, just like their peers. And just like all children, they need to feel secure, be accepted, have fun, have friends, access all aspects of early years services – just sometimes they may do it a bit differently! This is a very practical workshop with lots of real-life examples and ideas to take away,

This workshop is presented by the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre (CPEC), Glen Waverley.

CPEC is a disability organisation providing transdisciplinary therapy – speech physio, occupational therapy - to support children and young people and their families. Our motto is Learning for Life – because we aim to support people to be included in their homelife, early years services, local schools and other community environments.

*this presentation will also give a brief overview of some emerging genetic disorders / syndromes that impact on the physical development of young children
